The Netherlands
The Netherlands, my home, is one of the Northern delta’s of Europe and although very densely populated is still full of surprising landscapes, beauty and biodiversity. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate its unique landscapes, from the Wadden Sea’s tidal flats to the coastal dunes, peat marshes, meadows and temperate forests. These habitats are still quite rich in wildlife, and the Wadden Sea and Isles are a critical stop for migratory birds and breeding ground for Harbor and Grey Seals. The beauty and biodiversity here are a reminder that nature’s wonders are quite often just around the corner.
